Everybody Wins

This was my first time at a Comicon, and my first time cosplaying, and I’ll be the first to admit that there were about a dozen much better-looking Spiderman costumes than mine. But nobody—and I mean nobody—made me feel like an inferior Spiderman. The atmosphere was so welcoming that it was easy to forget that these weren’t actual superheroes. And on that note I have a theory: if everyone got to dress up as their favorite characters all the time, the world would be a much better place, because when you dress up like a superhero, for example, I think it inspires you to act like one. I know it did for me. But everyone, no matter what they were cosplaying, was awesome. Everyone was eager to take pictures, they were friendly, they were good-humored—they were the best.

And yet…
